Greetings all... Hope you are enjoying a well deserved break this summer. This note is sent to keep our Clarkson family updated on upcoming news and events. But first - a last look back at a fabulous season.
Congrats to you all for a great season!
A huge standing ovation goes out to our Clarkson Family for a fun and successful season. We began the year with the wonderful All Shook Up which was recognized by ACTCO with a Thea for best ensemble. Well done! Huge applause to all participants for last year’s Christmas Cheer Choir. You entertained at over twelve venues last December, and gladdened the hearts of many! The spring concert - Be Our Guest- was a huge success... we made magic with this enchanting Disney concert.
Thanks to the many hands that have worked behind the scenes to make music magic! From production teams, to artistic teams, to set/costume/lights/sound/props design teams! Thank you to the Carney family for opening their home to us for the CMT’s Christmas Wine and Cheese. Special thanks to all those who, with coordinator Susan Wray Toogood, work so tirelessly on our fundraising – without you we simply could not do what we do! Finally, thanks to the CMT Board for the endless hours they have contributed towards the success of CMT and the Encore Series!

Friday July 28 @ The Irish Club – 4120 Ridgeway Drive, Mississauga
This invitation goes out to our members in good standing and to our newest cast of White Christmas! We look forward to a chance to catch up with our Clarkson family, reflect on a great season, meet new cast mates from White Christmas, and simply have a good time. Your $5 entrance fee at the door will cover the cost of the rental of the hall and food (BBQ sausage and dessert). The Irish Club offers a cash bar with delicious beer on tap (like Guinness) and more. Although there is no Karaoke, there is lots of fun! Advance notice is required to guarantee we have enough food, so please email [email protected] to let us know you plan to attend. Thanks for those who have already dropped us a line. See you then!
It’s Beginning to Look alot like Christmas!
We are so thrilled with the talent that will comprise the cast and team of White Christmas! We look forward to working with you in the fall. Your rehearsal schedule will be forwarded to you in early August. We can’t wait to get started! Check our Clarkson Music Theatre’s Facebook Page for cast details. We are still looking for a couple of male dancers to round out our cast, so let us know if you’d like to try out.
Get started on your Christmas shopping early! - Individual tickets for White Christmas go on sale in September at www.encoretix.org. Subscription tickets for a great Encore season are available now through August. Check out EMP’s South Pacific, TUPA’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, MMT’s The Producers, and CCMP’s Chess. Call the box office at 905-615-4720 for your subscription tickets. Stay tuned for a future notice detailing exciting news about the upcoming Encore Series Gala which will celebrate 25 years of the Encore Series.
The Christmas Cheer Choir
We are proud and happy to confirm that the Christmas Cheer Choir will continue this fall. Thank you to our music director: Ruth McDonald, and our producer: Seona Sydor. This group of individuals entertain in late November / December at senior centres in the Mississauga area. Last year, they performed at twelve sites. We are very proud of the work they do. Rehearsals begin Sept. 6th and run every Wednesday. The performance schedule will be confirmed in the fall. If you wish to join this group, please confirm your participation by contacting Seona at [email protected] by August 15th.

We are grateful to our members for their help in keeping us going. But, there’s always room for more! If you wish to volunteer your services, Clarkson Music Theatre is grateful for your help. Please contact [email protected] or [email protected] if you wish to try your hand at set building, set painting, backstage crew, working lights, marketing. Consider putting your name forward to serve on the CMT Board. Remember, Clarkson Music Theatre is truly a community oriented group, and our work supports many charities in Mississsauga such as Credit Valley Hospital, Ian Andersen House, Doctors without Borders, Jerry Love Foundation, and more.
If you wish to become a part of the fundraising team, please contact our Bingo coordinator, Susan Wray Toogood, who (along with her generous volunteers) enable us not only to stage outstanding productions, but also to financially support our community. Contact Susan at [email protected]

Membership Fees are Due in September
Your membership is important to us. Your membership fee provides:
- Access to productions such as the spring concert and the Christmas Cheer Choir
- An opportunity to try out for the Fall production at Meadowvale, and, if cast, ongoing dance, acting and singing coaching as you rehearse.
- Members are invited to CMT social gatherings such as the Christmas Wine and Cheese and the Summer Gathering.
- CMT members are granted lifetime membership after just 25 years of continued membership.
- Membership fees ensure that you are covered under CMT’s insurance policy.
